What is a special declaration of value form?

When checking in your luggage, airport staff may suggest you fill in a " special declaration of value form".

This allows you to value the amount that your luggage and its contents are worth, for a fee.

Therefore, if your luggage is lost, damaged or delayed upon arrival, the airline will have to compensate you for the amount agreed upon in the special declaration of value form.

Think about checking whether you have filled such a form before starting any claim !

If you are travelling with valuables, you might want to ensure you fill in a special declaration of value form should anything happen.
